New York, NY – After wowing New York’s fashion industry with a snappy new look for the Council of Fashion Designers of America ball, celebrity lifestyle designer Colin Cowie is transforming the vacant lobby of the 40 West 40th (American Standard) building into a chic day spa to benefit Cancer Care, Inc. Cowie will appear at the event scheduled for Wednesday, September 10th at 10:30 a.m. Super model Rachel Hunter will present a donation check for $50,000. The nation’s top skin care experts will then pamper New Yorkers with celebrity-inspired treatments throughout the day.

For the spa, Cowie has created new floor and wall treatments in creams, whites and vanilla tones and installed club style, slip-covered furniture to create an areas of professional vignettes. He has replanted the window boxes with tightly packed wild tulips and will cater the event with a continental breakfast, spa lunch and tea. The fare will feature recipes by Colin Cowie, some of which appear in his recent book, Effortless Elegance with Colin Cowie :
