Los Angeles, CA, April 2, 1997 - - Carl Wilson of the legendary Beach Boys was diagnosed last week with an early stage of cancer in his lung and brain. The doctors have recommended a series of chemotherapy and radiation to insure the cells do not replicate any further, a therapy which Mr. Wilson is currently undergoing. The doctors feel the situation is under control and that the identification of the cells at this early stage will contribute to a speedy recovery. Mr. Wilson is in excellent spirits. He looks forward to touring with the Beach Boys for their annual summer tour which begins this May. This year, the Beach Boys will be co-billing approximately sixteen dates throughout the U.S. with the “rock and roll band with horns,” Chicago.
