For Summer Tour
Fifteen City Tour to Begin in St. Louis on May 30, 1997Los Angeles, CA, May 8, 1997 -- The Beach Boys, known for their luscious Southern California sound and Chicago, the legendary rock n roll band with horns, will appear at amphitheaters and arenas throughout the U.S. for a fifteen-city tour this summer. The touring line up will include original members Mike Love, Al Jardine, Bruce Johnston and Carl Wilson, who is steadily recovering from his recent medical challenge. Beginning on May 30th, the dates include:

The Beach Boys consist of original members Mike Love on lead vocals, Carl Wilson on vocals and guitar, Al Jardine, rhythm guitar and vocals and Bruce Johnston, vocals/keyboards. Brian Wilson currently performs selected events with The Beach Boys. Al Jardine’s son Matt performs Brian’s falsetto vocal parts and percussion. Mike Kowalski is featured on drums, Chris Farmer on bass guitar, Ritchie Cannata on horns, Mike Meros on synthesizer and keyboards and Tim Bonhomme on keyboards. Guest performer and friend of the band John Stamos makes occasional appearances with the band.
The Beach Boys have toured annually since the band was formed in 1961 by brothers, Brian, Carl and Dennis Wilson, their cousin Mike Love and friend Al Jardine. The classic songs and The Beach Boys’ harmonies embody the spirit of the California lifestyle to a worldwide audience. The Beach Boys’ first hit was in 1961 with the song “Surfin.” Last year’s summer tour, titled “The Beach Boys Give America A Boost: Tour ‘96” kicked off in California August 4th. The Beach Boys are members of the Rock ‘n Roll Hall of Fame and throughout their careers, have been known for their philanthropic interests raising funds and awareness for organizations benefiting the environment, homeless, hunger, youth community services and substance abuse.
